1Limited Warranty Coverage

Modern Edge Doors warrants that its steel windows and doors will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years. This warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered to the customer’s home or job site and remains valid for five (5) years from that delivery date.

Coverage applies only to products used under normal conditions and in the manner for which they were originally designed.

2Handcrafted Product Variations

All Modern Edge Doors windows and doors are individually handcrafted and custom-built for each project. Slight color variations and minor fabrication inconsistencies are inherent characteristics of handcrafted work and contribute to the individuality of the product. These natural variations are not considered defects.

This limited warranty does not apply to minor cosmetic blemishes, aesthetic inconsistencies, or slight discoloration of metal or finish that do not impact structural performance.

3Remedy Options

If Modern Edge Doors determines that a product contains defects in materials or workmanship within the warranty period, Modern Edge Doors may, at its sole discretion:

• Repair the defective component at no cost
• Replace the defective component at no cost
• Issue a refund for the value of the defective component

Replacement parts will be produced to closely resemble the original; however, due to the custom, handcrafted nature of the products, slight differences in color or fabrication may occur.

4Items Not Covered

• Glass: Insulated glass seals are warranted for two (2) years from the date of sale when purchased through a Modern Edge Doors sales representative or authorized dealer. Other glass warranties are provided by the glass manufacturer.
• Weatherstripping: Wear-and-tear item; may require routine maintenance or replacement.
• Hardware: Covered exclusively under the respective manufacturer’s warranty.
• Components or accessories not manufactured by Modern Edge Doors.

5Factory-Applied Paint Finish (Non-Coastal)

Modern Edge Doors provides a five (5) year warranty on factory-applied finishes in non-coastal environments, beginning on the date of delivery to the original purchaser. If the factory finish is proven defective within this period, Modern Edge Doors may refinish the product or provide reimbursement up to $200.00 to the current owner.

Loss of gloss, fading, or weathering from sunlight and natural elements is normal and not a defect. “Non-coastal” is defined as properties located more than ten (10) miles from any saltwater ocean, sea, or inlet.

No paint or rust warranty applies to properties within ten (10) miles of saltwater. Rust is a natural characteristic of steel and must be properly maintained. Rust, in any environment, is not considered a defect.

6Conditions Not Covered

• Minor finish blemishes or variations
• Minor handcrafted fabrication imperfections
• Finish damage caused by parties other than Modern Edge Doors
• Damage resulting from improper installation (must be installed plumb and laser-leveled)
• Leaks due to improper installation, warping from improper framing
• Structural settling or movement; adjustments due to shifting foundations/walls
• Damage from hurricanes, tornadoes, tropical storms, or other acts of God
• Corrosion from salt air/high-saline coastal environments (estuaries, lagoons, bays)
• Normal wear and tear; natural fading/discoloration over time
• Neglect or lack of routine maintenance; failure to perform timely touch-ups/repairs
• Sprinkler-related damage
• Doors/windows installed in shower or bath enclosures (excluding standard bathroom/entry doors)
• Damage caused by any tape applied to the product (including masking/painter’s tape)
• Exposure beyond intended cold-weather limitations
• Condensation-related damage caused by environmental conditions
• Any product not paid for in full
• Installation warranty coverage limited to 45 days from completion
• Operable doors require an overhang at least 1/2 the height of the door and transom; water infiltration due to inadequate overhang is not covered

7Caustic Environments

Caustic or corrosive substances such as stucco, concrete, salt, brick wash, acids, and similar materials must not be allowed to accumulate on the product at any time, including during construction.

8Customer Responsibility

The homeowner is responsible for proper care and maintenance of Modern Edge Doors products. Routine maintenance may be required to preserve condition and appearance. Environmental factors (coastal exposure and overhang protection) determine maintenance frequency. Maintenance may include refinishing exterior surfaces, paint touch-ups, and hinge lubrication.

For coastal or harsh environments, Modern Edge Doors recommends inspections and maintenance on a quarterly basis. These services are not covered under this warranty.

9Disclaimer of Warranties

Except for the express warranties stated herein, Modern Edge Doors makes no other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. All warranties are subject to applicable statutes of limitation and shall not extend beyond stated periods.

10Limitation of Liability

Modern Edge Doors shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, punitive, or exemplary damages including lost profits, loss of revenue, or diminished value arising from any breach, regardless of foreseeability or legal theory.

Total aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the product in question. The customer assumes all risk associated with product use in any application, including operating costs, performance results, and overall effectiveness.
